World Hatfield Week
Over the 20th to 28th July 2019 we will be celebrating World Hatfield Week.
Our thanks to BAe for the images
The First Flight of the First Commercial Jet Aircraft, took place in Hatfield on 27th July 1949. Following in the footsteps of the giants who built the Dehavilland Mosquito, that helped to win the war, the people and businesses of Hatfield are celebrating 70 years of Innovation and Success. The proud heritage of Hatfield Polytechnic and all the great people that helped to maintain the civilised world against the ravages of fascism.
Four years after the end of the War, that expertise had been put to great use, in developing Jet age technology for the people. The Comet was born.
World Hatfield week is about celebrating these achievements, both in the past and in the Future. Hatfield has a proud heritage of innovation and invention. Lets start rebuilding from here.
Our thanks to our Sponsors, who have helped to make this event possible.
