A big thank you to OJ and his team at Waitrose for inviting Chamber members to our Christmas fayre and wine tasting event. Mark Slater orchestrated proceedings as we were treated to a full range of Christmas treats. From great tasting Turkey to Cheese Soufflé’s, from the best Stilton’s to Heston Blumenthal’s Orange Christmas Pud, all complemented with recommended wines ranging from Champagne to Taylors LBV Port and Pinot Noir, via a Spanish Muscatel to Mulled wine, a wonderful evening was had by all.
Waitrose really do care about our local community as demonstrated by their Charitable and Social activities.
If you would like a recommendation for a wine for Christmas try their Waitrose Brut NV Champagne at £19.99 a bottle, it reminded me of Bollinger NV from the 1980’s – very good with the Christmas Pud, or try the Katnook Founder’s Block Cabernet Sauvignon £11.99 with beef, venison or lamb. Also Taylor’s LBV Port is on offer at £11.99. (While Stocks Last as they say).
