Templewood Primary School is looking for new governors.
Templewood School is a one form entry school situated just north of Welwyn Garden City town centre. The school has an excellent record of educational attainment which we seek to maintain while providing a broad curriculum and exciting opportunities for all children, in a safe environment.
The role of the governing body is to put in place a strategy for the school, to hold the senior leadership of the school to account and to ensure financial probity.
We are seeking to recruit new colleagues who will bring additional skills and experience to the governing body which will ultimately benefit the children we serve.
This voluntary role will can be demanding but is rewarding, and as a governing body we work together to share the workload.
Our new governors will have time to be able to commit to this role, a willingness to learn, and experience of one or more of the following:
- education
- SEND
- community action or work
- business or income generation
- communications or media
We welcome applicants from all sections of the community.
If you are interested in finding out more about the role, please contact Helen Anthony, Co-Chair of Governors, on 07817 743194 or chairofgovernors@templewood.herts.sch.uk. We also invite you to meet existing governors at the school on Tuesday, 30th January, from 7 – 8pm for a chance to learn more about the school and the role – please let us know you if you intend to come along, by using the details above.
Templewood School provides a safe environment for its pupils and as a result we follow a safer recruitment procedure which requires governors to have a DBS check and references to be obtained before appointment. Our Child Protection and Safeguarding policies can be seen on our website.
