Post Brexit – What Next? – Emerging Politics

Building on our Success from Uncertainty or Change is Opportunity thinking, the following themes seem to be emerging.

Politics Hit The Reset Button

This upheaval amongst our political classes, is no more than democracy in action – it is a good thing. It only seems a bit disconcerting because it is long overdue.

The days of career politicians who don’t stand for anything, blaming risk averse bureaucrats for their ineffectiveness, whilst we pick up the bill, are a busted flush. Immigrated was just the straw that broke the camel’s back, the ineffectiveness is everywhere you look from local councils lining their pockets to the debacle over tax credits. The point is that this type of GROUP THINK is not only insidious, it is extremely dangerous, and needs to be carefully managed by people who know how to take risks and be responsible for the outcomes. That is everyone in business. No tax payer to pick up the bill!!

So how do you manage GROUP THINK?

Well you start with Conviction Politicians, those who say “I Believe in the following ….” I will give that my best shot and be accountable to the electorate if I fail.

In this manner we can have a propper debate, and engage with the UK electorate. If you don’t know what people stand for then democracy fails. We have just seen why that matters. Namely it stops a few self selected unaccountable bureaucrats deciding that they are some kind of elite. They are not.

Hopefully the fact that a career politician can no longer serve the EU cause as an MP, then pick up a £250k pa job for life in Europe, will help remove the career boys.

It is important that youth feels engaged and that they are informed about and understand the issues and their complexity. A few conviction based politicians debating both sides of the arguement and some intelligent interviewers, understanding and facilitating the debate would also help.

Different People Different Ideas

We need different people with different experiences at the top. I will be voting for Andrea Leadsom in the leadership vote, because we have plenty of experience in the cabinet similar to that of Teresa May, what is lacking is the experience that none of the politicians have, that is the commercial ability to understand outputs and the ability to get things done.

This way we may have a chance of stopping Group Think.

Remember,

If you use the same people they will do the same things, so don’t expect a different result.

The Brexit Vote demands a different result. One that supports commerce, cash generation and the reinvestment of those moneys to help our people and their living standards. That means not wasting our money on bureaucrats who just obstruct everything. Heathrow Debate for Example.

Engagement around the issues

I would like to think that we can also ring the changes on sensational journalism. This is not about the self agrandisement of individual journalism or the ratings of the TV programs, it is about the quality of the debate, It is not about the participants scoreing cheap party political points.

We have been lulled into sea of mediocrity, where there is no point in standing up because the bureacrats will destroy your hope in the name of their self interest. They cannot help it, they just dont have the ability to do any better.

I think I know why Wales voted to LEAVE, because like the entrepreneurs, they understand the importance of individual freedom of though and expression, the spirit of which is caught in Dylan Thomas’s Poem to his dying father.

It is our hope and the right to self determination that nearly died on the 23rd June 2016. Thank goodness we stopped that light dying.

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rage at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Thank you Dylan Thomas

In the Words of Jules Holland

It’s Later than you think!
