New Member – My Town-Local

We are very pleased to announce a joint venture with Geoff Willett of My Town-Local.

Geoff has explained what they do, better than I can. Suffice it to say that we will be working together to help the local community, where we can.

This enables the Chamber to use it’s influence to help a broader community. If you would like to be involved in helping your local community, we can provide you or your business with a listing for a start up price of £10 per annum. If this is of interest, then please contact Geoff on editor@mytown-local.co.uk

MyTown-Local is a community magazine/business directory targeting an area including St Albans, Hatfield and Welwyn Garden City.

Our mission is to create an authentic platform where the community can discuss current feel-good or contentious issues and events, with a connected audience.

We are not a newspaper, although current events and news articles of interest to the community will feature.

If anyone wants to reach out and showcase a local event, a sponsored walk or anything that might be of interest to the local community they are welcome. Equally, if something the local council has done (or not) is causing them some concern they are invited to post thoughts and opinions on that matter.

MyTown-Local is apolitical and does not have any political leanings. This doesn’t mean that contributors have to follow. You can post whatever you want if you feel strongly enough about it and there will be opportunity for comment, response and debate.

Contributors will not get arbitrarily bounced off or banned from the site if they stay within the guidelines and it will not become a place where gossip extends to private vitriol or abuse. Those cabals can remain on other social media platforms.

MyTown-Local is sponsored by responsible local businesses and service providers. Each Sponsor will have their own individual business page to showcase services and goods available to connect and create loyalty. Small businesses and start-ups will get a free listing for the first 12 months.  Charities can list for free as a service to the community.

Sponsors will know that MyTown-Local operates an ethical business ethos with profits made going back into the community by way of equipment and sports goods for local schools and charitable associations that have previously registered with us.
