Furlough Extension to end of October

Dea Members,

The Chancellor has announced a further extension of the Furlough to the end of October based upon 60% of salary details to follow.

Our thanks to Matthew at Concensus HR for the following update

In a statement to the House of Commons, Chancellor Rishi Sunak has confirmed that the Job Retention Scheme is to be extended to the end of October.

Full details on how this will work in practice is expected at the end of May and we will be ensuring that our valued clients are kept up to date with the ever changing Employment Law.

PLEASE ENSURE IF YOU ARE BRINGING ANY ONE BACK FROM FURLOUGH THAT I AM INFORMED AS WE NEED TO ENSURE THE CORRECT DOCUMENTATION IS COMPLETED & A RISK ASSESSMENT OR OTHERWISE YOUR INSURANCE MAY NOT BE VALID.

Employees do not leave home & return to work, or stay at work if they or someone they live with has either:

  • a high temperature
  • a new, continuous cough

Stay alert:

We can all help control the virus if we all stay alert. This means you & your team must:

  • Stay at home as much as possible if not returning to work and have either of the symptoms shown above.
  • Work from home if they can and you have provided the necessary tools to do the job
  • Limit contact with other people in and out of the workplace
  • Keep your distance if you go out or to work (Businesses need to set up their workplaces so that 2 metres apart can be achieved at ALL times where possible)
  • Wash your hands regularly – adequate facilities need to be available with hot water, soap & hand drier / paper towels.

Self-isolate if you or anyone in your household has symptoms.

ANY employees you bring back into work MUST have been given the relevant documentation  which highlights what would happen should unbeknown that we go back into a Pandemic again with the correct details retained.  All employees who are contracted to you can come back into work when you require and when the business needs them but you must ensure as has always been the case that Government guidelines are followed and any personal circumstances taken into account.  YOU MUST also ensure that the Government – Coronavirus (Covid -19) guidelines are followed at all times.

Please contact us immediately for a copy of the letter when needed and as always ensure a copy is saved for easy future access (BreatheHR) -and if you need ANY help please contact us as we are here to help. (Terms & Conditions apply as per your monthly retained package or Pay As You Go & to ensure you are fully covered by your insurance.)

These are all records for us to keep should we need it with an HMRC investigation and will be able to be used with any Payroll info we have as well.  It is also ideal from a company & Breathe HR perspective for future quick reference in the future if needed.  This also means that holidays are amended if needed.

If any of you are having problems with this, please send me the Start dates for all of your team who have been furloughed and a copy of the letter & we will upload it all for you.  Please remember that although we (I) have been sending extensive emails – Mail-chimps over the past few weeks, this purely is to ensure we are ahead of the game & you get all monies owed to you & should an HMRC / ACAS investigation ever take place that we have the information easily to hand.

As always if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.
