Our chosen Charities for this event are The ABF and the Royal Marines. The Focus of this event is our Veterans. We have speakers from The Royal Marines and the Paras. There are two core agenda, one about getting Jobs, and the other about our relevance in the community. These issues apply to everyone.
Neil Deuchar, will be speaking about wellbeing in the community. He is a good friend of CareAbout and former NHS medic and a senior manager.
Our core purpose is to Bring people together to Give them a voice so they might Express themselves and Be Heard. This is about The Community Manifesto, where we bring together the things that people CareAbout, and seek to hold our representatives accountable for delivering against those needs.
We also believe in Helping people to help themselves, by Developing our skills so we can Be Valued. (More than we already are, and to a broader audience). We are developing online training courses, produced by business people, that are relevant to real world living, and getting a job. These are sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, who will provide Certificates of Competence and opportunities for us to put our skills into practive.
Finally we create Opportunities to meet likeminded people, to help us work together building Community lead supportive Learning organisations where we can build our Frames of reference comprising our real life experiences so we can show we can Be trusted and hence Belong.
We believe that these are the core tenets of democracy and civilisation.
We want to help our children. When they ask What is the Point? to understand that They are. Further that we CareAbout them, and this is how we can help them to help themselves. Thank you for your support. We hope to see you there.
