Chamber AGM will be held in John Lewis, in the Partners Room behind “The Place to Eat” on the Second Floor.
On the subject of which John Lewis will be providing the usual food and refreshments. A Big Thank you to Jonathan Field and his team.
John Lewis have asked that we sign in at the assembly point, where the collection point is, we can then be escorted up from there.
In addition to the normal Chamber AGM business, this year we will be incorporating the Chamber as a Company limited by guarantee.

High street shops are closing, we’ve seen nothing yet, and many other businesses are feeling the pressure. In this talk by Carl French, who runs the online publisher The Endless Bookcase based in Hertfordshire, Carl shares his own experiences, thoughts and practical suggestions on how to punch above your weight and not be knocked out by Amazon. He explores the value of ingenuity, resourcefulness, and co-operation with the experience and expertise in one’s own community. In particular, Carl talks about how authors can help a community to help itself.
This business of the damage that Amazon is doing to our High Streets, is an important one.
