Royal Marines Association – St Georges Day fundraiser. 108th Anniversary of the Zebrugge Raid

 

The picture above is our Mayor “Elect” Michal Siewniak, speaking at our St George’s Day fundraiser for the Royal Marines Association held at the Royal Navy Association Club – Founded 1945, with 250 clubs Nationally –  Excellent Catering by Squash and Sizzle.

Michal spoke of the importance of the Veteran Community in Welwyn Garden City and the County beyond.

He was joined by Dr Neil Deuchar ex Director of Health West Midlands, who spoke about the importance of health in both mind and body, and how community engagement can provide relevance and belonging to our Veterans, whilst providing able bodied community support. Neil Founded and ran Egalitarian, a charity that helped homeless people recover their lives. He appointed Homeless people to the Board, and gave purpose to all involved.

Tony Mack, spoke of his extensive experience of providing therapy to clients at The Priory. He has kindly offerred to help us improve our therapy and support services for veterans across the country.

Our ongoing, fundraising activities for the ABF and the RMA continue to raise thousands of pounds every year.

 

Our next event, with the Lord Lieutenant will be our Annual Curry Lunch at Haileybury, fundraising for the ABF. Details of which may be found here.
